TASTE GUIDE – THE LATEST PAIRING OF AUTUMN TASTES

AMERICA’S FAVOURITE DRINK,

WHISKEY IS NOW

IN PUMPKIN-SPICE

Author: Matthieu Deneuve

At autumn times, streets of America

are lightning up with pumpkin-

fewer. The decoration, both

on public squares and the outside of

family houses are decorated in a sheer

autumn harmony, with orange in the

focus. In the kitchen, foods of pumpkin

spice are gaining popularity this season.

Even pumpkin-spiced drinks are favoured,

such as pumpkin-spiced beer. However,

this year a new combination of

this beloved spice and alcohol has emerged.

Southern Tier Brewin, located in

New York, came up with a unique composition

for the great delight of gentlemen:

the pumpkin-spiced whiskey. The

company had gained attention back in

2007 when they had released pumpkin-

spice beer,

that became extremely

popular since. With an alcohol content

of 9%, pumpkin-spiced beer is an essential

autumn drink everywhere from restaurants

to family tables. The Southern

Tier Brewing is expecting similar success

with their new product. Pumpkin-spice

whiskey was made with conventional

methods, with respect to the traditions.

With an alcohol content of 35%, it will

presumably claim the title as the King of

Alcoholic Beverages. The designers compare

its taste to that of pumpkin pie. The

bartenders have already worked out a

new pumpkin cocktail with this whiskey.

The Butler would like to share the recipe

of this cocktail!
